Detect QR-Based Fraud Before Customers Scan Into It
Arjuna QR intelligence is designed to analyze a QR code's destination before a payment or credential-entry flow begins — since QR codes otherwise hide that destination until it's too late to verify.
How It's Designed to Work
From QR Scan to Verified Destination
QR Extraction
Decode the QR payload before it reaches a browser, app or payment flow.
Destination Analysis
Analyze the extracted destination — a URL, UPI request or deep link.
URL Reputation
Check the destination against known and emerging threat intelligence.
Redirect Detection
Follow redirect chains that can hide a malicious final destination.
Phishing Classification
Classify suspicious destinations as phishing, malware or fraud-adjacent.
User Warning
Surface a clear, plain-language warning before the customer proceeds.
Threat Reporting
Feed confirmed threats back into Arjuna's shared threat intelligence.
The Problem
Why QR Codes Are Hard to Verify
A QR code hides its destination behind an image. Customers scan with their phones, so the address is often never seen before a payment or login page opens. These are the QR fraud patterns this capability is designed around.
Fake QR stickers
A legitimate QR code at a shop, parking location or payment counter can be replaced with a fraudulent one. The visual pattern alone does not show whether it is genuine.
Fake payment QR codes
A QR code does not move money just because it is scanned. The risk is where it sends the customer and what action it asks for, such as a fake payment page or a phishing site.
QR phishing (quishing)
A QR image can hide a phishing URL that imitates a bank, payment service or delivery company, so the customer never sees the address before opening it.

FAQ
QR Intelligence Questions
Is Arjuna QR intelligence for banks available today?
No. This page describes a capability that is on Arjuna's roadmap, as the status badge above shows. It is not a generally available bank or fintech product yet. To discuss it, use the enterprise contact page.
Does Arjuna check QR codes today?
Yes, for individual users. Arjuna's QR Code Scanner decodes a QR code and checks its destination for suspicious signals before the user continues. QR scanning and threat detection are available in the free tier.
Can a QR code itself contain malware?
A QR code is not a file and does not carry a virus on its own. It can direct a person to a website that tries to install a malicious app or collect sensitive information, which is why the destination is what needs checking.
